Kellen got his start in full sized car racing in 2001, where he quickly proved he has the talent to get to victory lane. In his first A Main he qualified for in a Dirt Modified, he won. He added a rookie of the year that same year. Since then, Kellen has grown into a star on the track, while earning the respect of fellow drivers around the country. In 2005, Kellen got his first taste of racing Late Models. He won his first time ever in the car and grabbed some national headlines when he won the first ever Western Allstars race in California.
When Kellen is not wheeling a race car around, he enjoys spending time with his son Jayce who was born in February 2007. When its time to go to work, Kellen can be found building and selling race cars at the family owned Pro Motorsports or helping repair and service boats with the other family business, Oakley Sterndrive & Engine Repair.
Kellen has overcome some tough challenges during his racing career. In 2008, he suffered serious injuries while racing in Arizona, including fractures to bones in his neck and back. Although the doctors were not sure if he would even walk again, Kellen showed his toughness and told doctors he would race again. After spending 6 tough months of mending up, rest and rehab, Kellen jumped back into a race car, determined to do what he loves - race!
