Kellen Speeds To $5,000 Victory In Chowtown Pacific Nationals Victory
October 16-18, 2009 - Kellen made the trip over Chowchilla Speedway to compete in the lucrative Chowtown Pacific Nationals. The three day event turned into only a two day event for Kellen. On Friday, day one of the event, Kellen won his heat and would go on to earn the preliminary feature event win. The win earned him a pole starting spot in Sunday's big paying feature. He was able to sit out Saturday's action with the pole starting spot already secured. Kellen would start Sunday's feature with Brad Pounds on the outside front row, followed by third starting Bobby Hogge IV. Some would say these three are some of the best drivers in California. Kellen grabbed the lead on lap 1 and would lead all 40 laps. Hogge battled past Pounds to take second. Close friend, Ryan McDaniel, started the race in 10th and battled through the field to beat Pounds and claim third. Kellen plans to head to Bakersfield this weekend for the Steitz Memorial/Dirt Track Shootout. After than, Kellen will enjoy a weekend off before heading out on the road to some of the biggest Modified shows in the country. On Nov. 6-8, 2009, Southern New Mexico Speedway will see Kellen running for a $10,000 to win event. From there, he heads to Las Vegas for two weekends of action. On Nov. 12-14, 2009, Kellen will compete in the $7,777 to win Duel in the Desert. He will return one weekend later to compete UMP $2,500 Modified show (and perhaps bring out his Late Model for the $5,000 to win Silver State Championships). Kellen Wins Western Allstars Dirtcar In ChowchillaApril 18, 2009 - Kellen hit the track for the first time in '09 in his powerful Super Late Model to compete with the Western Allstars Dirtcar Series at Chowchilla, a track Kellen has ran many times in his Modified. Kellen has been very successful competing with the Western Allstars, and on Saturday night he continued that success. Finishing second in his heat race, earned him a spot in the Dash. The finish order of the dash determines the starting lineup for the feature, as well as some extra cash. Kellen would win the dash and start on the pole for the A Main. With a dry track, Kellen would jump out to the lead at the drop of the green flag and would go on to lead every lap, picking up the $2,000 victory in his black unsponsored Rocket chassis.
